He is particularly interested in the interaction between government regulation and private-law remedies and the consequences of domestic regulatory programs for cross-border activity. His substantive emphasis is on food and drug law and the regulation of international business.
Professor Muchmore is a graduate of Yale Law School, where he was Co-Editor-in-Chief of the Yale Journal of International Law. Following his graduation, he served as a law clerk to Judge Karen Nelson Moore of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and Judge Keith P. Ellison of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas. From 2005 to 2008, he worked as a litigation associate in the Washington, D.C., office of Sidley Austin LLP, where he focused his practice on the life sciences industry. Prior to joining Penn State Law, he was a Bigelow Teaching Fellow and Lecturer in Law at the University of Chicago Law School.
