Jill C. Engle is a professor of family law and manages the Family Law Clinic at University Park. Her legal background includes commercial and pro bono litigation with Morgan Lewis in Washington, D.C. Professor Engle also served as a law clerk for the Honorable Neal Kravitz on the D.C. Superior Court. She co-founded the law firm Engle & Engle, P.C. and the Mid-State Collaborative Practice Group, both in State College. Before earning her J.D., Professor Engle managed a nationwide affordable housing program for the National League of Cities in Washington, D.C. and was the director of the Family Resource Center in Altoona, Pennsylvania. She has served as a speaker and trainer for numerous state and local organizations on family law topics, most recently the Pennsylvania Bar Institute's Law Policy Forum: Law on the Frontiers of Technology in Philadelphia.

Professor Engle sits on the boards of directors of MidPenn Legal Services and Communities that Care of the Centre Region. She is a member of the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals, and several committees of the American and Pennsylvania Bar Associations related to family law and alternative dispute resolution. She was one of several recipients of the Pennsylvania Bar Association's 2010 Pro Bono Award.

Professor Engle graduated cum laude from American University Washington College of Law, where she served as an editor for the Journal of Gender, Social Policy and the Law. She was also chosen for a Marshall-Brennan Fellowship through which she taught constitutional law at a disadvantaged high school in Washington, D.C.
