Professor Michael Oriard, distinguished professor of American Literature and Culture at Oregon State University, will be featured speaker.

As a walk-on at the University of Notre Dame, Oriard became offensive captain and a second-team All-American by his senior year. He then played four years with the Kansas City Chiefs and one with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League, while pursuing his Ph.D. in British and American Literature at Stanford University. Oriard is the author of Bowled Over: Big-Time College Football from the Sixties to the BCS Era.
