Apply to the J.D. Program
Penn State Law seeks to identify and invite to Penn State individuals who are best suited to the rigorous study of law. In 2010, more than 5,300 students applied to the Law School.
To Apply
Applicants are required to submit an electronic application through the Law School Admission Council (LSAC). Our application will be available October 1. The personal statement, any additional statement or addenda, and the applicant's résumé or summary of work experiences and/or activities should be attached to the electronic application.
Letters of recommendation must go through the Letter of Recommendation (LOR) Service. Applicants are asked to identify a preferred campus location at the time of application.
It is recommended that additional supporting documentation be submitted to admissions@law.psu.edu.
For an application to be considered complete, the Admissions Office must receive by March 31, 2012:
- a complete Penn State Law application;
- a $60 nonrefundable application fee or authorized fee waiver;
- a law school report from the Credential Assembly Service;
- a personal statement;
- a résumé or overview of the student’s academic and professional experiences;
- two letters of recommendation; and
