The William Penn Chapter is the 200th chapter of Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, International. The Penn Chapter emphasizes professionalism, networking, and academics, and also hosts social events each semester exclusively for its members. Current and past Penn Chapter members include the president of the Student Bar Association; president of the Black Law Students Association; president of OutLaw; president of the Trial Advocacy Board; editors of the Penn State Law Review, the Penn State International Law Review, the Penn State Environmental Law Review, and the Penn State Yearbook on Arbitration and Mediation; and members of various Penn State Law Clinics and Moot Court teams.
The Chapter’s purpose is to form a strong bond uniting students and teachers of the law with members of the bench and bar in a fraternal fellowship designed to advance the ideals of liberty and equal justice under law; to stimulate excellence in scholarship; to inspire the virtues of compassion and courage; to foster integrity and professional competence; to promote the welfare of its members; and to encourage their moral, intellectual, and cultural advancement; so that each member may enjoy a lifetime of honorable professional and public service.
